ADOPTING HEALTHY HABITS

For an early Christmas gift my parents treated us to a brand new blender. It’s called a Vitamix. The Vitamix is the Cadillac of blenders, it can blend anything i swear. We love this thing we not only make delicious breakfast smoothies in it we also use this machine to make blended soups, sauces and dressings.

Lately, I’ve been trying to re-focus on my health and add more fresh fruits and veggies into my diet. My husband and I love to blend our favorite fruits and some spinach or kale to create this lovely green smoothie. We have this smoothie or a variation of it every morning, it is a perfect start to our day.

Green Smoothie

Yield: 2 servings

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

1 cup of orange juice (or 1 large orange)
1 banana, cut into chunks
6 – 8 large strawberries (or any berries you wish)
about 2 cups spinach
1 cup ice

Directions:

Put all of the ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

This simple Green Smoothie is a great way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into your diet. I promise it is delicious and nutritious! What are your favorite smoothie recipes please share!
